Hello dear friends! Today my first post and it is a great honor to me!
It is a pleasure to work with such magnificent and inspiring chipboard and flight of my imagination is boundless!

I have made a canvas with the photo with a tremendous chipboard.
At first I have painted over a canvas black gesso. Further I have added a white craquelure.
My canvas is executed in style a mixed media.

I have made composition, further I have sprinkled a little several sprays.

All chipboard I have painted with paints that he shone.

The last stroke - I have added stamps

Life is a journey and time is precious with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends! My name is Irit and this is my very first post as Scrapmatts DT member.

For this post we were asked to make a kind of a " selfie" canvas.
I hope  that I was seen in a proper way on this project as usually I am on the other side of the camera.

So as you can see I made it to fit the photo. Actually those are two photos from the same vacation, but I managed to destroy to lower one with mists. Then I realized that I don't have another good photo that was in a portrait way and every single piece of chipboards was already glued with gel medium over the canvas.
So when life gives you lemons, try to make a lemonade from them and try to correct your mistakes. The other similar photo was a landscape kind. I just trimmed it and made this 2 layers double photo and it seams to be unique and interesting after all.
My background was made with two Scrapmatts stencils: Circles  CT1001 and Alphabet  CT5017. I used texture paste (DecoArt) to make the whole background and let it dry.
As the next step I added paints and mists all over the canvas, using Plaid Mixed Media gel paints and their new mists. After it was dry I added some stamped frame with black permanent ink (Ranger) and Andy Skinner's stamps.
The next step was to paint the Retro squares chipboard, to cut it into two parts and to glue over the canvas.

Then I heat embossed  one window from Windows  04 CB5120 set and three pieces from Ornate frames 22 CB1220 and Ornate toppers 01 CB5137 sets  using clear embossing ink and opaque white embossing powder.  Those pieces were arranged on the top and  on the bottom of my photo.

As the next step I painted the Flowers 12 CB1220 and added them over the window chipboard.
I used two pieces for sentiments, both from Scrap Words 21 CB6103 set and they coordinate together to make the statement of Life being a journey and adventure that just begins.

As my last touch I added a bunch of 3d stickers and a few drops of blue mist. Yes, the mist that ruined my lower photo.
I really hope  that you like my canvas as much as I do, but it goes to Scrapmatts shop, not to my craft room wall.
Stencils: CT5017 Alphabet
Circles CT1001
Chipboards:
Scrap Words 21 CB6103
Ornate toppers 01 CB5137
Ornate frames 22 CB1220
Flowers 12 CB1220
Retro squares 01 CB5141
Windows 04 CB5120
And as I was very  passionate to use my new Scrapmatts products, I made a layout in a totally different vintage style and this is all about time.

I used a photo of my home clock and made a statement about perfect moment in our lives.
The paper products are from old DCVW stack, but the gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboards made this page unique and outstanding.

This time all chipboards were painted with DecoArt Mixed Media line paints to get this rustic vintage look. The ornate  toppers pieces were heat embossed with a mix of black, gold and copper embossing powders.

The stamped sentiment (Visible Image) was just perfect size to be covered with one of Chains circled chipboards.

Other chipboards were connected around the clock and embellishment cluster.

I added the Scrap Words21 CB6103 sentiment under the photo.
And the sentiment is just perfect as this photo was taken on my daughter's wedding day while she was dressing in my bed room.
I also added some paint stenciled letters over the background with Alphabet  CT5017stencil.
Chains 01 CB5132
Scrap words 21 CB6103
Ornate toppers 01 CB5137
Stencil CT5017 Alphabet

I hope I inspired you with my two totally different pieces and see you again in a month!

Congratulations! Card

Hi there chipboard lovers! This is Sharm here today, sharing a Congratulations card I made using the beautiful window chipboard.

Here are some close-ups and a picture of the card:

Materials Used:
Scrapmatts window chipboard
Echo Park Patterned Paper
Sizzix Stamp & Metal Die

Here is how I made my card:
*First you will want to give some colour to your chipboard. I used gesso and once it was dried, I added some distress paints.

1. Cut a piece of card stock to 4 x 12 & folded it in half.
2. Cut a piece of patterned paper to 3.7 x 5.7.
3. Using an oval die (so it matches the shape of the window), cut out the centre of the patterned paper
4. Flip the centre over so that the colour on the back creates a different effect for the card
5. Using a stamp of your choice, add some images of flowers and foliage about the oval shape
6. Add sentiment

Easy peasy ain't it? Do check the store for more, lovely chipboard designs!

Together Canvas

Hi there.  It's Christine here & I'm so thrilled to be part of the Scrapmatts team.  Today I'm sharing a canvas which represents me.  I've always wanted to create something that's black & white, & so I gave it a crack with a portrait canvas.

Here are the yummy Scrapmatts Chipboards & Stencil I've used:
   CB6113 Scrap Words 32
   CB1238 Scrap Words 24
   CB5127 Diamond Mesh 03
   ATC 10-008 Rounded Corner 01
   CB6093 Ornate Frames 21
   CB3007 Tags 03
   ST5006 Circles Stencil

8

I've cut the Rounded Corner ATC in strips.  All chipboards are a given a good coat of black gesso except for the Scrap Words.  Once dry, the ornate frame is then embossed white.  I've then scraped some parts of it so you can see through the black & extra texture.

5

As for the tag, it was given a top coat of crackle.  For the background I've used the ever versatile Circles Stencil.  Some layers of mists & glitter on the edges are then added.  I wanted it to look like a galaxy & I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks for popping in & do check out the delicious Scrapmatts goodies here.  I hope you've been enjoying the inspiration from the team.  Thanks for dropping by & have a blessed Easter.

Cheers,

Today

Good Morning , Rikki here with my first ever Scrapmatts blog post!!!

This is just a little bit exciting thats for sure. So starting off today I am sharing with you my canvas, our first challenge for the design team. If your anything like me when it comes to finding a photo of yourself is hard enough little known then scrapping it is even harder!!!!

When ever I start a canvas I love to add some texture with texture paste and of course a stunning stencil, this time I have used the Scrapmatts ST1006 Stencil Stars, I find when you do this it helps catch the colours of the medium you are using.

I am also a huge fan of chains!!!! Love how they draw your eye down and around the canvas, CB1229 Chains 02 I love how you can give them a little bend to make them have some movement.

I am all about mass impact when I use my chipboard on a layout or a canvas so the

CB4026 Flourishes 09 is the perfect way to do this dont forget you can cut up all your flourishes to get them to fit into what ever you create.

How awesome are these words??? They are just perfect for any finishing touch.

So till next time, I am off to create some more, with chipboard of course.....

Have a creative day.

Scrapmatts has a great selection of tags & ATC's.
I have coloured the Scrapmatts String Circles using 'Colour Crush' pigment powders.
(you mix these with water & then apply using a paint brush or put in a spritzer bottle & spray on).

Scrapmatts products used;

I used the stencil to create a little background texture
(it's a little hard to see)

I do hope you like my little creations?

And I am loving all the wonderful & inspirational projects the 2016 DT are sharing with us!

Hello everyone, Lisette here.
I am so excited to be on the Scrapmatts Design Team for 2016
with some very talented scrapbookers.
Welcome to my first blog post.

Today I would like to share with you two cards I have made this week and a layout from earlier in the year.
Although I always make cards (can't remember last time I bought one) I don't usually put this much effort into them.  However this time I know the recipients will really appreciate them (hopefully they arrive via Aust Post before they see this blog!)

This first card is for a dear friend whose Sister In Law passed away recently.

I started with white cardstock and used texture past with the Tile Stencil ST5024.  I then sprayed it with various shades of mists.
I have also used a flourish CB1004 which I altered using mists and then added the sentiment from Words CB1236 and finished off with a flower.

My second card is for my husbands God Daughter who has been sick for a while.

Using the same technique of texture paste and mists I used Dots stencil ST5006. I used some CB60013 flowers and finished off with laugh from Words CB1200.

I haven't had time to complete a new layout for this post so have used one I did at the beginning of this year.

I have always loved Scrapmatts chipboard so already had some in my collection.  I have used Chains CB1229, Smile from Words CB1200 & Life sentiment CB6103.  The inkblot stencil is one from my stash however Scrapmatts have two fabulous stencils that are similar ST1009 & ST5012.

Hope these projects have inspired you to use the fabulous
Chipboard and Stencils from Scrapmatts.
You can go the online store here Scrapmatts
Until next month, happy scrapping

'Me' Canvas my Amy

Hello There Scrapmatt fans,

Amy with you. I'm so excited to share my first creation with you. Its all about me! I don't get to create layouts with photos of me often when you are always trying to capture family moments. But as my local scrapbook store group tell me. We all need an obituary photo HAHA.

Now let me tell you what I have used CB6106, CB6105, CB6063, and Stencil ST5011
And Here is my Canvas called 'ME'.
I have used white modelling clay for the stencil and then painted over the top with 3 types of pink gelato.
I've painted the Hello chipboard with pink acrylic and then added Dimensional Magic to provide some shine
I have embossed the clock faces with white emboss powder.

So that is my first crafty creation for you using Scrapmatts chipboard and stencils.
I hope you have enjoyed it and I look forward to creating more for you soon

Stay Scrappy,
Amy
